Mate, no thin affiliate site is ever going to rank high without a serious amount of links and even then prob only for a week without a slap. Only way to make these sites work longterm is with a serious effort put into original content around the product you trying to sell. Best lazy way of doing this is to enable some sort of commenting/review system on the products and maybe pay ppl at mechanical turk or 0desk to 'review' stuffs for you. After you have lined that up, then you should concentrate on bookmarking, linkbuilding and all that jazz. Until then you wasting your time.

What about the seo amazon plugin that was previously around ? why was that able to rank ?

So your your saying that no affiliate website is able to rank without heavy backlinking right? Well the good news is that I have a website which targets a highly searched for keyword with very low competition - This is what im trying to get the amazon products on -

Is there not another way ?

So what about all of these ebay plugins and clickbank plugins - are they all a waste of time if your looking to get high search engine rankings?

    thanks

I'm saying no 'thin' affiliate site is going to rank without heavy backlinking, yes. I should have qualified that with it perfectly possible to rank a thin site for good keywords with no competition but that is just common sense in my world. If that the case with this amazon site, what you need a plugin for? Just do it already. No plugin going to be installed and magically rank your site.

The problem is not a lack of plugins. It is a lack of content. Amazon items, scheduled Twitter feed postings, etc are almost always worse than useless if that's all you have on your site.* Google can be tricked, but its not a complete moron; if all you have is obviously automatic, regurgitated content... well, why should you expect Google (and your visitors) to treat it as anything but?

    * They are useful to add additional money streams and keyword appropriate content if you do have other meaningful content.

Hi guys - ok it makes sense - well what im trying to do is make money out of my site with either adsense - amazon products - ebay affiliates etc - the only issue is that I am looking for a seo friendly way so that the seo work that I will put in will not be devalued as I have all of these outgoing links to either ebay or amazon -

any ideas would be good -Reviewazon sounds good but is this not the same as the plugin im currently using - also wprobot - what is the difference in the way it posts amazon porducts when comparing to the plugin i currently use

    thanks

The problem is not the outgoing links. it is a lack of substantive content on your site.

You essentially have a blatantly obvious scrape site. That screams SPAM to Google and visitors alike. You need to make it look like the Amazon and eBay links are part of a broader service or a complement to real, substantive content. There are some tools that cloak content, but they are not always reliable and far to the dark side. Google catches the "cheat" (and they *are* catching on, it's a really obvious cheat and getting too widely used) and you won't get a slap, you'll get a ban.
