    I think you are missing the point, the Linux OS that is used for this course is THE OS that is used for "penetration testing" (hacking) in the security industry because it is created fro the ground up to be focused on this task alone and has all the best tools that are currently used to successfully test the level of success you have reached to not be able to hack your companies wifi by using these tools.

    The OS is only 1GB and is free and is run in a flash drive so you can accomplish the desired goal of getting WIFI passwords as most people do not make a very secure password for their networks..

    This is the only reason it is a linux OS, because it is much more powerful when tasked to this purpose alone and nothing has been unnecessarily added to the OS for any other purpose.
