I recently got a temp ban for spamming a forum while not using proxies on my VPS (first day with my new VPS, doh!!!).

As many people often state that the success rate drops so much when using proxies with XR i've generally stayed away from them till now. However, not wanting to get a full-on ban i'm going to give them a go from now on as this new VPS is really fast and well priced.

Has anyone had any good success using public proxies (either through XR or scrapebox etc) or do i have to buy a few privates to get a decent sticky rate? Again, if anyone has any good sources of paid proxies, any tips of the hat in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks

why not try a VPN-type service like hotspotshield(it's free), doesn't work for longer than like 6-7 hours before you have to restart it again, but other than that works great for me

thanks guys, looked at hotspotshield but looks like it'll cause me plenty of pain in the longterm, went with the fiverr deal to test out a few cheap shared proxies and see how i go with those. appreciate all the advice though

    Going along with this post...

I just got xrumer today, so if this is a stupid question I apologize.

How many proxies do you use for xrumer? As in, how many do you have stored in the xproxy.txt? And if I use public proxies, is that too slow? Will my fast private proxies get banned too quickly? I don't want to test the private proxies on my own as I have them for another month and don't want to kill them with scraping in hrefer.

From what I've read, it seems xrumer success rate goes down when proxies are used, is this what you guys are experiencing?

    Thanks!

mazgalici offers amazing proxies I have been using them for a few months now.

@beerSEO it completely depends on how hard you want to push the software. I'm running 250 threads comfortably with 30 shared proxies hopefully this helps. My computer and internet can't handle much more than that.

Of course, private proxy is better than public proxy.

Private proxy will give you higher success rate, and of course better speed
Also we recomend to use VPN for hidding of your IP
