Dude. I don't know what your story is, but PayPal, while annoying at times, isn't a scam. You just have to know how to get results the right way. Case in point: Rather than dealing with the low-level minions like most people do, I ran a simple Google search, and now any time I have a PayPal problem, I email one of two places, and it's sorted in around 48 hours.

    Code:
    executiveoffice@paypal.com
which will fix 90% of all problems

    -or-

    Code:
    resolutions@paypal.com
if you're dealing with a jerk of a customer.

You should go through normal channels first - use their (PP) resolution center, contact customers directly to work something out, etc., but if that doesn't do the job.... use the emails. Oh, and don't spam them, because they save a lot of people a lot of time and grief, and I for one enjoy not having to deal with the minions in "customer support" when I have a problem.

    Good luck!

Paypal is not a scam, thats crazy talk. They are the biggest online payment processor last time I checked. A friend of mine had 16,000 dollars frozen! And..for a whole 6 months! Be glad its only $100 + cash your money out to a us bank account. Just leave enough money in there for bills.

If there is a pay dispute or refund request paypal will hold the funds in your account to cover the payment while they investigate the claim. Paypal will also freeze/ block accounts if they detect any sort of irregular usage of the account. This course of action isn't personal but more to do with protecting your interests. Reply to any emails for information they request regarding this matter and it will be sorted out quickly.

Paypal NEVER ask for your login details, password etc and if you have received anything along those lines then someone is trying to scam you, other than that, just be patient...

Paypal is obviously not a scam but it most certainly ranks as one of the worst companies to deal with. Their customer service in my experience almost does not exist.
I have have had quite a few problems with pay pal and the don't even bother to reply to my emails, It took 5 months to recently get an answer to a very simple question regarding money that seemed to go missing from my account, It hadn't but had they answered it could have been sorted with one email.
They have now decided to no longer allow me to use the bank account I have always used due to a dispute regarding them using my card to pay for something I asked them to cancel and did not. Now I am unable to buy anything online through them any more.
They are a pain in the ass.

    Thanks for the info....

Yeh Paypal will do what ever is in there interest...
They don't want to be left holding the bag when refunds come due...
So they will place a hold, or hold funds to cover possible refunds...
and if they see refund history they may hold more funds....

Paypal won't take your 100 bucks for no reason, we all know that. If you really think you are the rightful person then do and mail the resolutions department of paypal. I once did and they called me right at home.

Paypal is not a scam though they do have these shitty rules that will make you think of that they are. You just have to comply with it especially when they will hold the 10% of your money so your account won't close, etc etc. You wouldnt be able to get your full money out of their fucking accounts. It pisses me off most of the time.

Being of the itchy feet nature (not trench foot but wanderlust) I have the problem that I either have a bank account in the country I am currently in if I want my PayPal act. to work in that country (and new laws on banking make that mandatory in many places) or I end up with my credit cards not being usable. I know this is not PayPal's fault as one bank has just refused to renew my card as my address is now not in that country - buy my OH is there at the moment with a card that is about to die.

I am also of the grey brigade and as credit cards want proof of income (real work not IM stuff - idiots) they just chop your limit off at a set ridiculous amount as pensioners are 'RISKS'. I am sure the real reason was we payed them off each month by bank payment so no money to be made out of us.

In France last week they had the last day to convert the New Francs into Euro's. It was amazing, queues around the blocks as under the mattress money was cashed in and not allowed to become worthless. I am sure we will revert to an under the mattress economy if these stupid money rules continue as it was the banks that caused the crisis. On a final note, I had a problem with PayPal in France and Portugal (yes at the same time) and it took less than 24 hours for my account to be reopened. I did not realise I had committed a money offence but they explained and there has been no comeback. Paypal are cheaper than my bank who even charge me for my debit cards
